04/23/2007 - Far Hills, NJ (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The United States Golf Association announced on Monday that the Charlotte Country Club was awarded the 2010 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship.
The course, designed by Donald Ross and opened in 1910, has previously hosted the U.S. Amateur and the U.S. Senior Amateur.
"We are quite excited by the opportunity to host our third USGA Championship," said Doug Buchanan, co-general chairman. "Our membership speaks fondly of our prior events and the 2010 Women's Amateur will allow our members to enjoy the same personal association with a USGA Championship."
This year's U.S. Women's Amateur will be played at Crooked Stick in Carmel, Indiana. The following two years it will be contested at Eugene Country Club in Oregon and at Old Warson Country Club in Missouri in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
Last year's Women's Amateur was won by Kimberly Kim.
